The Younger Gods
Horus
Horus was the Son of Osiris and Isis. Horus is often confused with Ra or Atum. In some myths they are the same God, in others they are not. However, it is agreed that this version of Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis. He was born after Set killed Osiris and banished him to the Underworld. Many Egyptian myths later tell of the conflict between Horus and Set. Horus was the God of vengeance, war, protection and the sky. He is often shown with the head of a falcon (Budge, 1969).
Anubis
Anubis was the Son of Set and Nephthys. He is the God of embalming and the dead. Anubis possessed the head of a jackal. It was Anubis’ job to weigh the hearts of the recently dead against a feather representing truth (Pinch, 2002).
Sobek
Sobek is the God of military and fertility. He is closely associated with the Nile crocodile and is depicted with the head of a crocodile. He was a complex God who both represented the dangers of the Nile River and gave protection from the very same dangers. In some myths he is the brother of Anubis or Horus (Remler, 2010).

I have always enjoyed learning about Egyptian mythology. Over the years I noticed that Egyptian mythology has influenced many things from from Japanese manga like Yu-Gi_oh! to fashion like Kanye West's Air Yeezy 2 sneakers. The Egyptian God Horus can be clearly seen in Kanye West shoe design as it is featured on the tongue and insole of the shoe. Egyptian hieroglyphs can also be seen inside the shoes strap. As for the Yu-Gi-oh! manga Ra is the most powerful rare god card one can have. This shows how much of an influence Egyptian mythology has had on our generation because both the manga and the sneaker are popular.
